Dave, when we purchased our 08 3400RL several years ago it certainly wasn't as oxidized as yours probably is. However, when I replaced the decals I used a process I had used on our motor yacht (which was badly oxidized) to bring back the finish.

There is a product called Eager Buff. The company is out of Chicago that sells it so you can probably find them online. I started by using ultra fine 1500-2000 sand paper to wet sand it. Then using a very small amount of Eager Buff compound I buffed a small area using a slow speed. The results were amazing. My 1990 boat looked like it had just been built when I was finished. With the Montana all shadowing was gone where the old decals were. It looked so good I didn't put them back on.
