Because it’s beefier. Full and long timers tend to be heavy. Having that beefier hardware was key to me despite the fact that the official weight specs don’t increase. The roads I traveled over the past year have been brutal and had I not gotten IS I would have installed higher capacity springs and steel enhancements to my frame along with 8k axles. It was an easier decision for me to just go with the IS. The OEM structural components appear to just meet the calculated loads IMHO.
