We have four 125 watt solar panels. But we also have two D8 Lifeline AGM batteries which give me 510 amps storage. We dry camp a lot and use the solar panels a lot. In fact, I have my converter disconnected and the only thing that keeps the batteries charged is the solar.

Solar can be as expensive or inexpensive as you want it to be. It depends on what you want to do with it. A good, reputable solar dealer can sit down with you and from what you tell them, can tell you what you should have and how much it will cost. Of course, you can do all the installing yourself (if you're so inclined) and save a lot of $$.
