There IS already some designated color coding in the fuel industry. Look at gas cans...RED. Look at diesel cans...BLUE. Look at Kersosene cans...YELLOW.

ALL the lids at fuel stations are also color coded for the product they contain, for delivery driver assistance and to help prevent contaminating the other products with something different, albeit not necessarily the same color coding as used in portable fuel storage containers.
