What have you got the fan set on. On ours, in your situation, I have to run the heatpump unit on high fan during the day and then switch to auto after the sun goes down. It doesn't make a lot of sense unless the compressor is going out due to the sensor thinking it's too hot, but that's what happens. Not a problem here in KS, but we're 3,000 feet lower in altitude and thus further from the sun and while the humidity is way higher the temp is about 10 degrees cooler.
