I read an article in Cnet once that recommended buying a "dumb" tv and using a fire stick or Roku to make it smart. The processors are faster in the sticks and they update better. I have a smart tv in my home that is about 8 years old and most new apps aren't available even after running update, so I use a Fire stick instead.
