Dutch, Congratulations on your retirement. Looks like you've planned very well and that is the secret that allows you to enjoy your family.
I took a silver bullet early retirement package at age 52. The next morning, I woke up and thought, "what the heck have I done?". That lasted about 10 minutes. I had lined up another job, since I was too young to stop working, but it was in a completely different field and gave me new energy. Also, it was a job I really didn't need so there was absolutely no stress. At 58 I retired again for real now that our youngest had finished college. After that I did a bit of part time work for a friend in his business while waiting for DW to retire.
Two of our three kids had moved south, so we bought a 5th wheel and now spend our winters bouncing between them and enjoying our grand kids. Life is good.
One last tip for you:
"Never put off to tomorrow that which you can leave to the day after tomorrow"
