wet sand by hand with a rubber block. The key to buffing fiberglass is to keep your buffer moving if you stay in one place to long you get heat buildup and can melt the gel coat. I really like to buff with a watery mix of compound it makes a mess but I wear an apron. I have been doing it my entire life and you can take something that looks horrific and make it look new again. Being in the autobody business I am quite anal with keeping everything looking new.
