We stayed at Tremont in Townsend. This is last campground before you enter the Cades Cove entrance to the national park.

They are not very big in numbers but did have all the ammenties you would want including cable TV. (My idea of roughing it is no cable)

Several of the sites are actually on the banks of a small river that originates in the park. It may be the Little Pigeon but I wouldn't guarantee that.

We did not have our current Montana at the time (smaller unit) but there were several large 5th wheels and motorhomes on the full hookup sites.

It's about 20-25 minutes away from the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area but the lack of traffic is worth it.

Have a really great time and look for bears for me!
