At 67 I still do what I can, and let someone else do what I can't. Like you I have done my own home/auto/etc maintenance and repairs all my life. But little by little I am starting to let someone else do the more difficult things. I figure it is all part of life's plan. Nothing I can do about it but try to stay in as good shape as I can, continue to do as much as I reasonably can, and not worry about it.
Just replaced a 50 gal WH in the S&B. Although I have done it before, I was going to let a plumber do it this time. But after looking he said my PVC pipe on the pressure relief valve no longer met code. If he did it he would have to tear out the wall and replace all that pipe to the tune of ~$1,800! I could do it myself and be grandfathered in. That gave me the incentive to do it myself, at least one more time.
