The price of diesel is a shame. It is made from what is left after they make gasoline; the dregs at the bottom of the barrel. However, as all know, with the diesel vehicle crazy that we all helped to fuel, the refineries have decided to make a lot of profit from the price of diesel to offset the gasoline prices. I too bough my first diesel when it was nearly 40 cents per gallon chaaper than gasoline. In my area of Alabama, we have no pipeline or tank farm. That idea was voted against for fear of environmental issues a few years back. So, the local distributor who has a license for all of, and I mean ALL of the major brands, trucks fuel in from all over. There is not competition, all stations are the same price except for small independents. Prices here are normally 8 to 10 cents per gallon higher. I just love to get on the road and buy diesel cheaper in other states. I fueled up today, and that bill was $61.00 for a tank here in Huntsville. Of well!
