I had a new 1984 Dodge Ramcharger pulling a 30' TT through the Rockies. Lost power and found a Dodge dealer with a few vehicles and a 2 bay garage. Stopped and told of my problem. He said he could adjust the flat land 360 V8 but would need done again when I left the mountains. Instead he suggested adding some diesel to each tank of gas until I got closer to sea level again. It smoked as he said it would but power returned. Ran that vehicle 120,000 miles without a problem. I'd certainly not try that with any engine today.
