Thanks, agreed. Yep, right after I posted this I ran across some other threads that said to get the ShurFlo instead which is quieter than the original equipment FloJet. The ShurFlo is only about $10 more.

What I think I'll do is get the ShurFlo and
replace my FloJet now, and just keep my original FloJet as the spare.
Some people said to also get the ShurFlo silencing hose kit and the ShurFlo filter. The ShurFlo pump is quieter and with the silencing hose kit, together they're saying the pump noise is 75% less than the original FloJet. Sounds (pun) good!
