That pivot pin on the goose box sounds very much like the pivot point on my Rotaflex I mentioned above. If you have trouble getting lubricant in there, try Seafoam Deep Creep. Like WD-40, it's not really a lubricant but it is a penetrant and does a better job of getting in there compared to a water displacer.
