Most the time the engine will start when the temperatures are above zero but when it is below zero they won't start. My work truck with the International engine in it won't start either just to cold with out it being plugged in. Both my trucks are outside all winter long. I have found that it just not piece of mind knowing they will start . It is a lot easier on the engine knowing that the oil will flow to all the vital parts easier.
