During one long journey across the northern states using US-2, we found plenty of well established RV Parks & CGs without having to make reservations. For those with discount cards or military discounts we found many that would give the 7th day free. Most of the smaller ones like Northland RV Park at South Range were always clean with friendly management staffs.
About every 2nd or 3rd stop we spend a week. Especially if the side trips are lengthy. From this CG we ventured far and wide. Up north to a cozy little Indian Casino with a friendly restaurant. Then we went south on a big loop on very scenic highways. On one of them we found some of the Walton wealth. Oil, lots of it. We went to Duluth, MI twice. It’s a beautiful little city. At the city park you can go right down and soak your feet in the waters of Lake Superior.
These two pictures are from Duluth, MI.
