P.S. Does your older 3400 have a door which access the back of the TV? I don't remember when they started adding that feature.
Secondly, removal of the fireplace (which you likely will wind up doing) is very easy. There are only four screws holding it in and it slides out. You probably need to clean it anyway so this is a good time to take it out.
