There is a common 12 volt component for the propane and the 120 vac. The inside switch for 120 vac is actually 12 vdc that energizes a relay on the water heater to send 120 vac to the heating element. I am not at home right now or I would post a link to the Suburban wiring diagram. Maybe some one else will in the meantime.
