A fella over on DieselStop said there is no need for an EGT guage on the 6.7 He claims the engine monitors the EGT and will defuel if temp gets too high.

Ford has a 100,000 mile warranty on the engine and it is in their best interest to protect it. It will defuel when temperatures get too high. I think the 6.4 will defuel at 1450 but I'm not certain of the exact temperature. The 6.7 is probably about the same. It may not be necessary to have a EGT gage but I still have one.

Have my gage set to give me a alarm at 1300 EGT on the 6.4 so have never seen higher to confirm that it will defuel.
