BTW-Rich, I got in just as they changed over to black. They apparently had a surplus of brown boots so along with the brown boots we were also issued steel wool to scuff the brown off and black leather shoe die to make them black. Making them black was actually the easy part. We were also issued a can of Kiwi black shoe polish. SPIT shining them was the tough part and they had to be ready for inspection in 3 days. Fortunately the low quarters were black.
