Your heat pump and your air conditioner are the same machine on the roof of your camper. Think of it this way ... when they run in one position they blow cold air. When the machine run in the opposite direction it blows warm air.

Think of it like this. Stand in front of a window air conditioner. On the inside of the house the air is blowing out cold. Step outside and stand in front of the air conditioner, and the air is blowing warm.

One side is working like an air conditioner, the other side is working like a heat pump. Now imagine that window air conditioner on a turn table and you can rotate it in the window. So, in the winter, you now have the heat side blowing inside the house.

This is pretty much how the air conditioner - heat pump operate on the roof of your camper.
