The ideas are great. I think the screw-holding issue is real, due to the composition of the doors. May I suggest putting a little PL-200 or similar construction adhesive on the back of the bracket then screwing it to the door. This would take some of the stress off of the screws when removing the hook from the clamps. I'm going to try this tomorrow and see if it works.
