I found that the metal ring on the vacuum hose turns the system on when the hose is plugged in. I had to show my wife that the sweep lid also turns the system on and off. She was not pushing the vacuum hose all the way in and couldn't understand why the system was not turning on. She also wondered why there was little suction going on. I checked the dust bag in the pass through and it was packed full. So a reminder, check your dust bags often.
