In most cases, I would agree to watch out for free. However, Avast is tried and true and free unless you want to pay for the deluxe version. So "free" is not always a dog. I feel very safe in listening to computer gurus who recommend it. If you don't have someone you trust to advise you, then go ahead and pay for what you feel safe with.
