The drop on the ceiling fan is important. To low and the blades will be caught by the slides coming in from both sides. We also took the extended chain off one of the switches because it got caught on the top molding of one of the slides and nearly pulled the fan off the ceiling if we hadn't caught it before it did. The slides really do come close to the fan and the blades when the slides are brought in, so be careful on what you choose. To low and smash, to big and to much weight then. Never ending battle!
