Chain and cable lube from Napa works well too. Comes in a spray can and soaks in really well. Every time I start a trip I unload a can on the springs, bolts and shackles. I took the shackle apart yesterday to check them before I head down the Alcan on Monday. There was only a miniscule amount of wear. Yes, wet bolts are the answer in the end. But I am pleased how the chain and cable has been working. The trailer is on it's fifth trip coast to coast and 1 trip up the Alcan. Napa part #1370 and goes for about 6 dollars a can.
