The only thing about the Hepvo devices is they can get gunked up and not fully close off. I have one directly under the shower drain and one under the bedroom vanity. The shower one I use a small bottle brush occasionally to clean the membrane, but the one under the sink has to be removed to clean it. Other than that, the hepvo devices work very well. When they are installed horizontally, the ribs have to be facing down so the membrane works the way it's supposed to.
