I have a plethora of Ryobi 18 volt tools and carry quite a few with me when camping. It's surprising how often I need them for me or to help someone else.

I'm a big fan of Ryobi and all my tools have worked great. I wouldn't hesitate to get the buffer. If you were a full time detailer using the thing all day every day then it might not be the right choice. Otherwise have at it.
