We buy several hundred sets of bearings a year. Several years ago they were Timken. They would be out of stock sometimes for weeks or a month or more. The factory was sold to Toyo. I thought, oh no. Now they are never out of stock and we can order them without grease. Which we couldn’t do with Timken. They are still American made in the same factory in NC.
A lot of the Timkens are made in China along with other countries. I wonder where your bearings were made.
Several years ago we had spindle bearings replaced in a CNC lathe. The grease was $5,000 per pound. That is not a misprint. Thank goodness these high grade bearings don’t need much grease.
