I had my dealer beef up the receiver and fix obvious very bad welds from the factory. On occasion, I tow a small trailer with a side by side UTV that in total stays below the 3000 Lb max rating. On my trailer, the receiver crossmember was really beefy, but the weld's were horrible. If you tow above 3000 Lbs, you'll want to have a professional hitch company fabricate it for you. Even when I tow less than 3000lbs, I have brakes on the single axle rear trailer and sway control. I don't recommend going above 3500 lbs regardless. You run the risk of the tail wagging the dog going down steep grades or in strong cross winds.
