I like the idea of no physical water hook up as with the Magic Chef model. Searching the internet I found that there are quite a few portable ice makers, and they vary in price.
Since this thread was started with "Magic Chef," and except for where indicated in the thread by postings, I understand that each of you is satisfied with your brand. If there is anything different to that, please let me know either here or by PM. We will probably jump out this weekend and pick one up for the next trip.
