Eagles nest to Taos is narrow, winding, and through a mountain pass. I used to ride those roads on a bicycle doing the enchanted circle tour of 100 miles total. I would not be pulling my montana over that way to taos. Even going over the other pass down into red river would not be a fun thing to do. That road is wider and less winding, but it is an exciting drop into red river. I used to do about 60 mph when i let the bike run...most times I kept it to 35 or so.
