The short answer is - preventative.
The longer answer is: at the 2009 Goshen Rally, our neighbour two sites over pulled in with the hanger bracket broken off at the I-beam. Lucky for them, Lippert took them in and made everything nice. I also read on the MOC about similar events - in particular, somebody who went to Alaska and broke the hangers. Since our shackles, which we replaced last fall with Dave McNair's help, already had ovalled holes after only one year of operation, I figured preventative action on the hangers was worthwhile.
