My 2012 3150RL has a remote and if the light is turned on with the remote it has to be turned off with the remote. If it is turned on without the remote, the remote is not needed to turn it off.

We were in a fairly full park at the time and the only thing we can think of is someone else’s remote affected our unit, it was very odd.
