I use wood blocks under my jack feet just because it transfers the weight to the ground better and if the dirt is soft than it doesn't sink in. I also carry a 1/2 inch piece of plywood which in most cases so far has made up the difference in not flat ground. I put them in the bed of the truck while we are traveling and they are handy there. We are currently on a 3 month trip across the USA and my wood has come in handy.LOL
