I've been using the 15w/40 syn in mine. It's a 2005 model and in my 3790 now. You do have to keep an eye on the level as it's only a 2 quart system.

It drains slow and refilling takes a while. This page is from the service manual from the earlier model I have. The newer models are probably similar.
