Pin weight. Real World, take trailer GVWR and figure 20-23% will be pin weight. The brochure figures are useless in real world weights.

Your 2005, 2500 probably has a GVWR of 9000lbs, truck probably weighs close to 7-7500lbs with hitch, fuel and folks. That leaves 2000lbs or less for pin weight and that makes you overweight.

You got 2 decisions, buy a smaller, lighter trailer or a larger truck.
