On our rig, the Hepvo device is attached directly below the shower drain, and I occasionally use a small bottle brush to clean that rubber tube. This keeps it clean so it closes properly. There is also one below the one bath sink, and that one has to come out to clean. Usually these need to be cleaned several times a year, as we full time in our rig.
