In the shower drain is a device that is a rubber tube with the bottom end flattened. This is enclosed in a plastic tube that hand screws onto the drain fitting in the shower. You can gently open it up with a wooden chopstick. My used to stick shut, then would remain open and allow tank odor into rv. I removed the piece od cap and installed a regular s hedule 40 pvc ptrap that I got at lowes. Problem solved for good.
