Thanks, Dennis! I can sure tell the horsepower and torque differences between the old Duramax and the new. And, the old was nothing to sneeze at in my opinion! I always set the cruse at 60 or 62 mph and let it do it's own thing. I have also noticed that because of the extra gear in the tranny, it just sets there at about 13 or 1400 rpm and hardly moves. Climbing a grade, I did notice that it would shift down into 5th gear if the grade was steep enough. But not very often. And, the engine brake! Holy cow!!! If it is turned on and you just touch the brake pedal, it slows you right down. Especially, rolling off the 4 lane onto and around the exit, not much brake pedal needed if you time it right.
