We also went with the Onan Marquis Gold 5500 Propane. Very quiet. I think it uses a little more propane than a gas generator would burn gas, but at least for now the propane is about $1.00 a gallon less. We also have it wired directly into our service panel through a transfer switch. Remote start and hour meter are a must. About 20 hours so far.
