When I pull being from Wisconsin almost every trip takes us through Illinois where the speed limit is 55. Let me know if you ever find the guy going only 55. I usually pull between 62 & 68 mph. The reasons are I like to be just a little slower than the car traffic. That way I am not constantly weaving in and out. My truck as mentioned in another post has a sweet spot here also where it seems to be comfortable. If I were to pull at 60 or below every little hill would cause it to down shift. At 62, which I use in Ill. It does not do this. For most roads I have traveled 68 seems to be fast enough. Not that you can't go faster, but the trailer seems to take more of a pounding at the higher speeds. I55 and I40 are especially bad as well as the toll road around Houston. This road bounced one of our recliners into the wall and wore a hole in it as well as the curtain. I do have a new truck this year with at least 100 more HP than my old Dodge but my guess is I will still pull the same. AS stated in other posts we are camping and are not on a time clock.
