Know this is an old topic but...we bought IKEA furniture for our boys bedrooms back in 1988. They assembled it themselves and were quite proud of it. We moved it cross country twice and sent one set to the UK and back. One boy used his in a college dorm and fraternity. Both used the stuff in their bachelor pads. Now they are using the things in their kids bedrooms. Still looks pretty good except for the bureau which fell off the back of a pick-up truck during a cross town move in Boulder.
