I also had a 05 F350 with the 6.0 Engine. Put over 100K miles towing on the engine. I was aware of some problems with the early editions, but most of them were reengineered, such as the wiring harness location, head bolts, etc. Kept mine for 8 years, trouble free, until I got our current truck with the 6.7. Only time it went in the shop was for software patch upgrades. My only complaint was that the rail fuel filter was a messy replacement and the air filter was a real PITA to replace.
