The press-board trim with the adhesive wood grain laminate can be ordered and installed if you have a few woodworking tools and want to go that far. I reconfigured my entertainment center in my 2980RL a few years back and ordered a bit of the trim boards from the dealer. A Kreg tool to assemble it all back came in handy.
