Which cable is frayed?

If it is the "IN" one, then you can extend the slide without issue. When you want to put the slide back in, put the DH outside pushing on the corner with the frayed cable. Do not let the slide come all the way in where it would put excessive pressure on the cable.

If it is the "Out", I haven't had to play with that one (yet). I am not familiar with a FK model. Assuming you can access the bedroom somehow, the idea should be the same. Crawl into the bedroom and press on the corner with the fray. Don't let it fully extend. Or, if you can crawl in to the bedroom, leave it where it is for the time being.

So far both Marilynd and I have offered the use of the swag tool (plus a cable cutter). There will be lots of assistants ready to help.

Where are you now? We are coming from the south on 101. If we are close, you can have tools tomorrow.
