There is a crossmember back there (assuming your the same as the 3400). Mudchief had a good idea of just making slits in the belly behind the frame and pushing up to get to the top of the crossmember for the nuts.
I'm still debating. Might have to leave that part until tomorrow.
The angle iron does make a nice place to hang backup lights.
