Mine has done that on occasion too, comes on trailer disconnected and then goes out after a bit. It has done it with both my old truck with a Prodigy controller and now has done it with my new truck with intergrated controller. I have gone over the wiring from hitch to brakes and can't find a thing. Probably gonna change them all out to self adjusting hubs and brakes in a month or two...
