Disappointing list. A few things that come to my mind are:
Hawaii - either climb Diamond Head from in the crater (via the old WWII stairs, tunnel & artillery emplacement), or drive on the western side from the Naval munitions depot up the old pre-WWII two lane road to Schofield Barracks (there's public access). That's just for Oahu and not counting what's elsewhere on the other islands.
For Michigan, instead of visiting some bike shop in Detroit, go visit Tahquamenon Falls, or have tea on the porch of The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.
And while Carytown and Richmond does have a lot to see, don't see a movie, go to the American Civil War Center At Historic Tredegar on the James river - it was originally the Tredegar Iron Works, the only one the Confederacy had. Virginia has a lot more to see as well, like Appomattox Court House, Natural Bridge, battlefields upon battlefields, Washington's Mt. Vernon, etc., etc.
