all that said, I really would have liked slightly wider tires on Bubba but the dually configuration would have required a spacer between the rear wheels. The resulting tread would have exceeded the fender width. I didn't want the mess on the front of te trailer thrown up by the tires.
I changed out the 245's on our 2003 2500HD to 265's with excellent results. better ride and better wear. But, I did also change brands and fitted out Michelins.
I recently changed out the front tires on Bubba but retained the stock size. I opted for the Michelins. Rear tires have a good deal of wear left at 30,000 miles. Front ones were pretty much shot - unbalanced and uneven.
